Apprentices from the north west gathered at The Royal Clifton Hotel, Southport for the presentation of the 2009 NW BATJIC Apprentice of the Year Awards, which this year attracted a record number of entries.
Presenting the awards, Mr J Fenlon, Chairman of the BATJIC Committee, acknowledged not only the outstanding calibre of the nominations but also the dedication and enthusiasm of the tutors. FMB Regional Director, Frances Shaw, said: “This event promotes the construction industry in a positive manner and the standard of craftsmanship shows that the future of the construction industry is in safe hands.”
