Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) Installer Certification

MCS installer Certification will allow your company to offer the low carbon building services that customers want.
Microgeneration technologies generate heat and electricity from renewable sources. The UK is expected to produce 20% of all energy from renewable sources by 2020 in line with EU targets. To help encourage the use of certain microgeneration technologies the Government offers a number of financial incentives through the Feed-in Tariff and Renewable Heat Incentive schemes. This has helped to expand the renewable energy industry and create opportunities for businesses that install such technologies.

MCS installer certification enables companies to demonstrate competency and a commitment to the highest standards. Only installations that are completed by MCS installers are eligible for financial incentives.

MCS installer certification is available for the following technologies:

  • Micro Combined Heat and Power (CHP)
  • Wind Turbines
  • Solar Thermal
  • Biomass
  • Heat Pumps
  • Solar Photovoltaics
