Extending for the family

View from the garden

You'd be hard pushed to find anything missing from this stunning family home. A major refurbishment and double extension provides plenty of accommodation with a spacious kitchen breakfast room and separate utility room, two extra bedrooms, three new bathrooms and a reception room, as well as a new garage, patio area and outdoor swimming pool! But it's hard to spot the extension, as every detail has been carefully copied to match the original 1950s building.

Internally there is just as much attention to detail. For example, exposed vaulted beams give extra character to the master bedroom. Made from pine, the builder painted them to look like more-expensive oak.

Despite the extent of the work, the family lived in the house throughout and had nothing but praise for the builders, both for keeping the site clean and tidy, and for making sure it was safe for their young children.
