Shetland builders Elphinstone and Howarth, were presented with the challenge of linking a new extension with an existing house and garage. The builder used a creative approach to deliver a large living space.
He used insulation, to make a thermally efficient extension, which is of prime importance in this part of Scotland where the weather is often extreme.
The craftsmen have used hardwood materials and roof panels in classical and modern finishes, to deliver a highly desirable family home.
What the customer said:
" The builders involved us in every stage of the project and their attention to detail was exceptional."
What the Master Builder of the Year judges said:
"We believe this to be a job of superb quality. Communication with the homeowner is a major strength of this builder and he has taken time to advise the client the best way to maximise a return on space."
