Extension to 200 year old Millers' House

Miller's House

A great example of a sympathetic extension which blends in with the existing old property. This site was particularly difficult to work on with underground streams needing to be diverted before any work could be undertaken.

The clients have gained a living room, double bedroom, study and shower room all beautifully finished in mahogany and other hardwoods. Much of the finishing materials such as tiles and door handles were sourced from Holland which has created an original look for the project.

What the customer said:

"Having had building work done on several occasions in the UK, Spain and the Netherlands, this building firm has easily been the most impressive. This company was formed by the present owner's grandfather shortly after he returned home from the First World War - it is not one of these cowboy affairs." Dr Bryant

What the Master Builder of the Year judges said:

"Local craftsmanship has been used to good effect and the handmade aspects of the project, which were constructed on site, are to be commended."
