Restoration of 300 year old drill hall overlooking Fishguard Bay

Exterior shot

This is an excellent restoration and renovation of a former 1700's drill hall, which was initially used as a gun emplacement during the Napoleonic war, into three luxurious homes with spectacular views overlooking Fishguard Bay, Pembrokeshire.

The conversion of the disused hall into three homes, includes the restoration of original gun ports into windows and an original eight-foot diameter window as a spectacular feature in the main bedroom. The builders persuaded the client to use wood rather than plastic to allow the building to retain its original features.

What the customer said:

"The builders' input and suggestions throughout the project enhanced the final look and quality of the job. Also the care, attention to detail and quality of finishing touches and their genuine interest in the final look and feel of the project was absolutely essential given the prominent location of the property."

What the Master Builder of the Year judges said:

"The overall build quality is first class and you would find it difficult to picture the property in its original state." Description of work carried out: Conversion of a former drill hall into three residential properties.
