This stunning loft conversion nearly didn't get built. The clients knew what they wanted, but finding a builder to undertake the ambitious project was hard work - the first two they asked to quote said it couldn't be done! Luckily the third builder they approached had a "can-do" attitude and the resulting conversion has a real wow factor.
The open-plan contemporary design houses an open plan bedroom, bathroom and living area with vaulted ceilings, giving the owners a calming sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of city life. The work included a large degree of bespoke work, such as specialist steelwork, glass paneling, mirrors and also a specially designed oak staircase. Another feature is the specially made round 'Chinese' window.
A project of this complexity required close cooperation between client, builder, architect and interior designer and builder Kevin Walker put everyone's ideas into practice to realize the dream loftspace.
What the customer said:
"Kevin didn't just take a brief, but thought about it, added to it and made great suggestions. We are thrilled with the result." Mike Sell
What the builder said:
"This was a real challenge for any builder, which created a few brainteasers to be researched and solved." Kevin Walker
