Devon Barn conversion creates delightul home

The stairwell

The renovation of a granite stone barn in a picturesque village in the Dartmoor National Park has created a light and spacious home.

Externally the original white painted walls were cleaned and much of the stone was replaced using reclaimed granite. The roof was re-slated using Brazilian slates to produce a high quality finish and internally the joinery for doors, skirting boards and floors were all made to specification in the builder's own workshop.

What the customer said:

"We have never experienced such a good builder. He started the job a day early, was always courteous and all discussions about adjustments were well received. A credit to the profession." Paul Webster

What the Master Builder of the Year judges said:

"This builder has a good local reputation, he managed the coordination of the project and kept the client fully conversant with progress. He also assisted a great deal in discussions with the National Park Authority"
