New Permitted Development rules come into force in Scotland from 6th February 2012. Within certain constraints, the new rules will allow some works to be built without applying for planning permission, including extensions, access ramps, sheds, garages and decking. Various restrictions will still apply, especially for conservation areas and listed buildings. www.scotland.gov.uk/News/Releases/2011/10/14113246
