A number of enquiries have been received regarding proposed redundancies, and DAS has been appointing solicitors to assist members in making these difficult decisions. The 2008/9 tribunal figures show a 154 percent rise in redundancy claims due to failure to inform and consult correctly. Whilst officially the recession is over, predictions are that companies will continue to consider redundancies this year.
