Construction workloads declined for a 14th consecutive quarter in Q2 2011, according to the latest FMB survey. However, the proportion of firms reporting higher overall workloads increased from 19% in Q1 2011 to 24% in Q2, and those indicating that workloads had decreased, increased to 43%. There is unlikely to be an increase in overall workloads in the three months to September with around 36% of firms expecting to see falling levels of activity over the period, although 24% anticipate an increase. In Q2, around 41% of respondents indicated that they had seen a fall in the level of enquiries, a slight increase from the 40% in the first quarter of the year.
