Case Study 1

Refurbishment of Victorian Villa

We were commisioned to carry out a conversion to a former nursing home. The existing 1980s brown brick extensions on each side of the house were demolished and re-built in reclaimed brick to match the original house.

A dummy dormer was added to each extension to improve the look and fit in with the main house. We worked closely with the building inspector to ensure the building had sufficient insulation to meet the current high standards being fitted in the floors walls and ceilings. A lot of internal walls were moved and upgraded to incorporate the new layout and provide good sound insualtion. We chemically cleaned the brick work to further enhance the appeal of the property.

Case Study 2

Single storey extension with feature apex

Ann-Marie and Dave asked us to quote for their extension along with other contractors. We were chosen as their architect recommended us. Our price was competitive and we offered a 2 year Masterbond warranty within our quotation.

The work involved demolishing an existing bay window building the extension to include a new WC utility room and large open plan kitchen/Living room. A new boiler was fitted in the utility room to free up space. Velux windows brought natural light into the utility room as the extension sat on the boundary and the new gable wall couldn't have any windows.

We introduced ourselves to the neighbours on day one and kept them informed when we needed to work on their side of the boundary.

A special feature was the apex with roof light over the French doors. We worked closely with Ann-Marie advising on best build practices, use of space layout and type of fittings etc as work progressed. The work included laying laminate/slate flooring fitting the kitchen and work tops - with Belfast Sink. Also doors in the ground floor were changed for solid oak in anticipation of a future loft conversion.
