Case Study 1

Reclaimed Slate Roof

This project required us to strip the roofs of the orginal delabole slate. We also treated all rafter's purling's and ceiling joist's. We also used a high quality breathable felt to cover the roof.

We slated the roof using slate hook and where possible we reused the original delabole slate. Due to the amount that was broken in the process of stripping the roof and many being fragile due to there age we had to use around 40% of reclaimed delabole slate. We also use reclaimed ridge tiles and found a matching finial which was identical to the rest in the street, the result was as you can see from the images is truly a beautiful old looking roof.
