Case Study 1

Queensmead School

One of our most recent Projects has been the refurbishment of the science block at Queensmead School in Middlesex.

Appointed main contractor for the refurbishment we took their requirements and designed a 10 room state of the art science block using the existing 40 year old building shell.

The £1.6m project from inception was designed and constructed in a fast track six month programme and the successfully completed science block was handed over on time for Half Term in October 2008.

We worked closely with the school in the design and functionality of the block to meet the school requirements and expectations. State of the art Air Handling systems were installed to provide optimum studying environment together with lifts for the movement of dangerous chemicals for technician use.

Classrooms were designed to provide maximum flexibility in layout for studying. DDA facilities were incorporated with bespoke height adjustable workstations and sink areas.

Your single source solution for all Educational Buildings and Property requirements.

Building requirements are changing. In designing new and refurbishing existing buildings disabled access carbon footprint and environmental impact have to be carefully considered and incorporated.

We at BRAC Contracts specialise in a genuine total service ranging from refurbishment and renovation of existing buildings through to construction and fit out of new buildings.

Working closely with the School Project Team the works were carried out during term time with a closely adhered to Health and Safety Method statement that ensured total safety and security to pupils and staff.

Andy Lovesey Assistant Headteacher at Queensmead School said "we had a tight programme for a technically challenging project BRAC Contacts managed the project from start to finish meeting our deadlines and delivering an excellent end result. It was an enjoyable experience working with these professionals"
