Case Study 1

Watermill Restaurant and Lodge, Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh

Kilmore quay restaurant and lodges involved a large refurbishment to the existing building along with a large extension to form the new restaurant area and toilet provision, and new build lodges to the rear of the site. A large majority of the existing building was retained and repaired as were the client’s requirements.

The existing thatched roof to the building was in an extremely dilapidated state and therefore was replaced with a new thatched roof with intricate detailing to ridge level. All existing stone work on site was reused to form new walls within the building an entrance lobby and also for landscaping walls to the site.

Other works to this building included the inclusion of a three meter tall fish tank to be built into the building as an external display to the side elevation. External works included, concrete kerbing, railway sleeper kerbing, brick paving, tar-mac surfaces, stone walls, small pedestrian bridges.

DJ Contracts are honoured to have achieved the Federation of master builders "builder of the year 2010" for constructing the Watermill restaurant for the commercial category.

Case Study 2

New build 2011, Lisbellaw, Co Fermanagh

DJ Contracts have completed many new-builds throughout its 15 year history. One of the most recent new builds undertaken by DJ Contracts is the new two storey dwelling and detached garage in Lisbellaw, County Fermanagh. DJ Contracts completed all works beginning from site clearance and preparation. Poor ground conditions in this area resulted in deep trench foundations being specified after discussions with building control. Therefore a ring beam was also required to be constructed.

Other elements of this project has included pre-cast concrete first floor slabs, steel work to a timber cut roof and a decorative stone front porch.

This project is due to be completed in the fore-coming weeks and has been very successful and has been processed extremely smoothly allowing for client satisfaction.
