Double timber framed extension
As its name suggests timber frame building is a building method using a timber frame as the main structure, which is clad externally using brick, render, pebble dashing or wooden boarding to suit.
This has many benefits with the most significant being the ecological gains. Timber is an organic, non toxic and naturally renewable material. 90% of all wood consumed in Europe comes from European forests where more trees are planted than harvested each year resulting in increasing rather than decreasing forest.
Timber uses five times less energy to produce than concrete and six times less than steel. Internally the timber frame is fully insulated and covered with a vapour barrier and plasterboard.
At your request we can arrange a free on site discussion about your build and advise as to feasibility, cost and procedure. We can arrange drawings for you if needed and advise on planning applications. From the drawings a fully comprehensive written quotation will be supplied.
