Case Study 1

Crag Hall Barn This project was grant aided by the Higher Level Stewardship Scheme Natural England and The Rural Development Service.

My client and I prepared a report of the barn to include the historic / architectural merit extent of damage schedule of repairs and cost; this was submitted to a panel and was the only successful application of the meeting.

The brief for the restoration was to use as little new materials as possible especially trying to keep the oak crooked truss’s which was possible.

Skills and traditional materials needed to complete the project included Oak lime mortar stone walling slating using random widths diminishing courses lead work.
