Extensions & Alterations to Existing Bungalow Sheepy Magna Atherstone
This project was awarded to us following a competitve tender and was project managed and monitored by a professional firm of quantity surveyors.
The client had previous bad experience with builders and was very wary about this project.
The project involved the demolition of the existing boiler room floors and associated chimney.
A single storey extension was constructed to the rear with some major structural steel beams inserted to support the weight of the existing roof.
The existing bedroom was converted and altered to form the new ensuite shower / wet room including breaking out the existing floor to install new underground drainage.
The new floors were installed and new underfloor heating was installed in two zones one for the new bedroom and one for the ensuite both of which were sensor controlled and operated by LCD wireless programmers.
The floor screed had to be carefully laid and dried out to avoid a high moisture content as an expensive real wood floor was laid thoughout the new and existing areas.
The project also involved providing disabled access ramps through the existing double garage area and various internal alterations / reconfiguration of walls and electrical services etc.
The project was completed well within budget and two weeks ahead of schedule and this allowed for some further works to be incorporated as instructed by the client.
