Case Study 1

Certificate of Merit on The Malverns "

This project was situated on a difficult site on the slopes of the Malvern Hills and was a particular challenge for all involved. It was originally a coal shed and out house which was to be converted into a children’s after school club building.

The access road to the site was too steep and narrow for deliveries close to site and close proximity to adjacent buildings made it an exceptionally cramped site.

For this reason the Malvern Hills Conservators granted us permission to construct a temporary platform as a site compound on the side of the hill which had to be reinstated post contract.

It was completed on time and on budget and was submitted in 2008 for the Master Builder of the Year competition.

Unfortunately we did not win however the judges did award us a certificate of merit due to the complex nature of the site and the "standard of the works achieved".
