We are General Building Contractors covering all aspects of building/construction and light civil engineering works.

We undertake all aspects of building and light civil engineering works within our locality.

Be it disabled facilities and alterations to existing buildings; hard or soft landscaping; retaining walls; drainage; groundwork; pavements; general repairs and maintenance; window/door replacement; roofing; extensions; new build; major refurbishment; group schemes or sports facilities we've been there and done it and will be only too pleased to come to you and do it again!

We provide various services allied to the building industry and while we like to think that we specialise in all of them we also offer some specialist services that not all contractors do. We have detailed the services we can offer below:

1. Approved Contractor for External Wall Insulation Systems - We are approved contractors for Powerwall's external wall insulation systems and other external render systems.

This being so any such installations carried out by us will be guaranteed by Powerwall. Powerwall products are bagged pre-mixed polymer based renders with greatly enhanced adhesion and strength.

The consistency of the product is guaranteed on-site mixing consists only of the addition of water and a stir! The exterior of the wall can be insulated prior to rendering if required upgrading the U-value of your property without sacrificing room inside or filling the cavities and running the risks that that could entail.

2. Registered Contractor for Tanking and Waterproofing Systems - We are also registered contractors with John Newton & Company Ltd manufacturers of tanking and waterproofing systems. Indeed we were at the time of registration the only contractors in Wales registered by the Company. Their systems are used in waterproofing elements of buildings subject to hydrostatic pressure and the associated problem of water ingress (e.g. basements). Again such installations carried out by us will be guaranteed by John Newton & Company Ltd for your peace of mind.

3. Accredited Contractor for Working with Non-licensable Asbestos - We are not licensed asbestos removal contractors but several of our employees have been trained and are equipped to handle materials containing non-licensable asbestos.

For our clients this brings the bonus of not having to employ expensive sub-contractors to carry out relatively simple short duration tasks that everyone regularly comes across when working in buildings built before 1999.

Asbestos is present is so many materials that if you had to call in a specialist every time these materials were encountered delays would inevitably build up as would costs.

Case Study 1

Loft Conversion for Private Client 1

This project was a sizeable task involving some re-profiling of the ground floor the installation of supporting steelwork over large openings to the ground floor and then the conversion of the loft to form a bedroom and en-suite bathroom.

Image 1 shows the new staircase fitted to access the loft room. The window at the half-landing position together with the new large rooflight not only maximised light over the new stairs but actually improved the natural light available in the existing hallway.

Image 2 shows the bedroom in the loft with it's coved ceilings and large rooflights making it a bright airy and very pleasant room.

Flats Conversion for Private Client 2

This project involved the refurbishment and conversion of a derelict commercial premises into two well proportioned flats.

This was another substantial job with major works required inside & outside the property including retaining walls and hard and soft landscaping to the grounds.

A major improvement you'll surely agree - and not far too go for supper!
