Kitchens and Bathrooms

R Us!

Barbara's kitchen required digging up the old uneven concrete floor and levelling with insulation and a Damp Proof Membrane. The walls were old rough-hewn, bare stone blocks needed setting vertical and sound proofing. Nothing about fitting this kitchen was easy but we got there.

Dave and Viv's bathroom was an exercise in good use of space. The already small bathroom is further compromised by the sloping top of the stairs, sloping roof and a boiler cupboard. The units were custom made to make the most use of the space and topped with solid oak. There is even room for the cat to kip in its favourite space under the boiler!

Bob's Loft

Bob's loft started out as a tiny hatch in the hallway leading to a cramped, dusty loft space. By 'simply' rearranging the walls below, dropping the ceilings by 19" and adding some well-placed Velux windows, it is now a spacious, well lit, double bedroom with an on-suite bathroom.

Access to the loft is via a bespoke floating staircase lined with glass. One of the rooms had to be reduced in size to accommodate the stairs - a fair compromise if turning a two bedroom house into a one with three bedrooms and a second bathroom. The stairs are lit by natural light from a window above.
