The Future of the Building Regulations in England

Document
Submission
The FMB has submitted its response to the Government's consultation on the Future of the Building Regulations in England. Our response focuses on the proposed changes to to Part L of the Building Regulations (conservation of fuel and power) for new homes, which would introduce tighter carbon dioxide emission standards for new homes from October 2013.

Following consultation with our members, the FMB has recommended extending the zero carbon homes time table to allow the house building industry more time to recover from the economic recession and to collect better evidence following the regulatory changes introduced in October 2010.
