Reminder on enforcement of rules for using cookies for website owners

Article

Businesses and organisations must comply with regulations on the use of cookies, and similar technologies, for storing visitor’s data on equipment such as computers and mobile devices.  The regulations, which came into force on 26 May 2011, mean that organisations running websites in the UK have to get informed consent from website visitors to store and retrieve their data.  The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) said that it would give organisations 12 months to comply with the new law so they are due to start enforcement from May 2012.  See
