Hopes are high that Northern Ireland can claim success at the 10th Master Builder of the Year Awards. The eight Northern Ireland category winners were announced at the Federation of Master Builders Business Conference held at the Hilton Hotel, Templepatrick.
All NI category winners will go forward to represent the province in the national competition. The national awards ceremony will be held on 11th March 2011 at the Park Plaza Hotel London and will be hosted by celebrity property guru Phil Spencer.
The Awards are unique, as every entrant must be nominated by a satisfied customer and the competition tests the entrant’s technical ability together with their customer service skills.
Northern Ireland Category winners include:

Heavenly Builder who demonstrated excellent customer service: McQuillan Building Contractors, Cookstown, Co. Tyrone

Apprentice of the Year: Philip Green from Lisburn who was nominated by Belfast Metropolitan College
Maire Nawaz, FMB Northern Ireland Director said: "The standard of entries this year is the highest we have seen in the 10- year history of the Awards. This reflects the expertise and attention to detail shown by the dedicated builders in the province. What really stood out was the excellent working relationship the builders had with their clients. The results are stunning, including some highly complicated building projects reflecting the latest technologies, energy efficiency features and traditional quality craftsmanship."

Each national category winning builder and nominating client also wins a luxury all inclusive weekend break for two and the winning apprentice receives £1,000 cash.
