Make Mine a Builders, the only tea tested and approved by builders, and the Federation of Master Builders (FMB), the largest trade association in the UK building industry, have teamed up to
give one deserving person or community group a building make over.
We are looking for someone whose life could be significantly changed by having their home repaired or improved; perhaps someone who has recently started using a wheelchair and would benefit from their bathroom being adapted or family who require a kitchen that can cope with the special needs of a child or elderly grandparent. Or a community group which needs better facilities; perhaps a parent and toddler group which is meeting in a worn out hall or a special needs group whose requirements aren’t being met by their current facilities.
Judges from the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) will pick the most deserving entry and send in FMB-vetted builders to transform the building – and possibly the winner’s life!
Pick up a pack of
Make Mine a Builders, from Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Ocado and in selected Tesco and Asda stores, for details on how to enter. Or go online to

Jonathan Chiu of Make Mine a Builders, said:
“The idea for the ‘win a building rescue’ competition came about during the riots that swept Britain in August 2011. We saw people’s businesses and properties damaged, destroyed and burnt to the ground. It got us thinking about how we could help someone who has been dealt a bad hand and could do with a break. As such we are on the hunt for a worthy building project that will make a real difference to the winner’s life.”
Robin Hood-Leeder of the FMB, said:
“For over 70 years, the FMB has been supporting builders and helping clients to find the best builders for their projects. We hear some wonderful stories about builders who are real heroes and have gone the extra mile to meet the special needs of some of their clients. The FMB is delighted to be working with Make Mine a Builders tea to find a project that will make a very real difference to an individual or to a group. We look forward to being able to send in one of our members to transform the building - and possibly the winner’s life!”
