Enquiries

The overall level of enquiries has fallen significantly compared to both the previous quarter and the first quarter of 1997, percentage balance is now negative indicating declining levels of enquiries. Negative balances have been recorded in both the private and public sectors, levels have declined in both sectors compared with the same period of last year. Growth in the level of enquiries is now only being reported in private new housing and private housing repair and maintenance, (Table 5).
