Fourth Quarter of 1998

This report is based on a survey conducted in December 1998 of over 300 member firms in England and Wales of which 79 per cent have approximate annual turnovers of between £46,000 and £1m, a further 10 per cent have annual turnovers over £1m. The respondents comprised 46 per cent Limited Companies, 23 per cent partnerships and 31 per cent sole traders.

The swings between positive and negative percentage balances show the changes in activity. Rates of decline are indicated by the differences in negative balances, rates of growth by the difference in positive balances. Percentages may not add up to 100, this is due to the rounding up of figures.
