The FLASH programme provides SMEs with free business support and access to information required to both see and seize the commercial opportunity arising from sustainable construction and retrofit as part of a move to a low carbon economy. FLASH, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), is a professionally and technically orientated programme facilitated by the Institute for Sustainability and supported by the Technology Strategy Board.

Previous Events
Since the start of the programme last year, we have covered a variety of subjects that have ranged from back room business development such as marketing your business to front line practical considerations.
We have run sessions on renewable technologies, retrofitting period properties, case studies of retrofit, planning and building regulations for low carbon housing, and sessions on the upcoming Green Deal and its implications on SMEs.
FMB FLASH members have had the opportunity to visit sites such as RES Group's pioneering low-emissions headquarters in Hertfordshire and the BRE Innovation Park in Watford. Visiting sites that have used the current technologies and hearing evaluation of them has really benefited members intending to develop this area of their business.
