Kisiel Group’s work on this project saw them demolish an old MOT test centre and construct seven new homes. Liaising with their client right from the outset of the project, the team navigated a series of technical challenges to reconfigure the ground floor, before creating the attractive brick façade using materials reclaimed from the old structure. The judges commented that the development was a great example of repurposing a site and the project was delivered “to a very high visual standard, which enhances the surroundings.” The team at Kisiel Group displayed impressive teamwork and communication throughout the build, winning high praise from their client who stated: “What a great bunch of people – friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to respond quickly to meeting any challenges.”

Comprised of 15 traditionally constructed houses built in red brick with render panels, this infill development site by Alskea Contracts was described by the judges as “a first-class project”. Taking on the tricky process of implementing the site’s new water sanitation system and grappling with delays brought on by the pandemic, Alskea have delivered a beautiful selection of three and four-bed semi-detached and detached homes with driveways and both front and rear gardens. The streetscape aesthetic is pleasing and each of the homes has been built to a minimal carbon footprint representing a comprehensive, environmentally conscientious development any builder would be proud of.
G Ellison Builders demonstrated commitment to this project by undertaking specialist training in order to install the unusual, curved roof feature on this new build project on the site of an old barn. Designed to mirror the design of the former barn, the intriguing structure also features brickwork at the ground level with cedar boarding used on the first floor. G Ellison completed the works with the clients living on-site in caravans as the property continued to serve as a fully functioning farm meaning extra care had to be taken with regards to health and safety. The finished product delighted their client, who stated: “we couldn’t be any happier with the builder”.
