For this home renovation project, Swiss Build’s clients wanted to extend their kitchen and transform it into a social hub to suit their outgoing personalities and lifestyles. Bringing in an abundance of natural light and adding a central island as a focal point, this Master Builder also installed underfloor heating to ensure guests enjoyed true comfort in this wonderful new hosting space. Their client’s testimonial speaks volumes as to the quality of service and workmanship they enjoyed during this exciting project:

Completing a full rewire, an overhaul of the plumbing system and a total refurbishment in this property, Zaluga Ltd took their client’s design sketch and turned it into a stunning reality, keeping to a tight budget and a condensed three-month timescale. They have transformed the groundfloor with entrance lobby lighting, high ceilings and cornicing where old meets new, whilst bespoke Crittal glazing beckons visitors into the kitchen to discover the specially designed “Zaluga Bar' therein. The judges were particularly impressed with the expert craftmanship evidenced in the clever use of materials throughout the property, describing the finished result as “amazing, especially given the time frame they were working to.”
Following the sudden and unexpected passing of their electrician, colleague, friend and "all-time funny guy and team player" Barteck Sopata on 21st August 2021, Zaluga has dedicated its regional award win to him as a way of saying goodbye. Our hearts go out to all of the family, friends, colleagues and clients affected by Barteck's passing, and we hope this award will serve as a fitting reminder of the excellence of his work.

Radford Construction Services were called upon by a former client who they helped some 12 years ago, to create some extra space with this unique conversion of an old cowshed into a two-bedroom home. Unfazed by the access challenges the property presented, the team worked closely with their client to design and create the new space, carefully considering material usage to ensure, it blended seamlessly into the existing building. The judges liked the abundance of natural light throughout the home and were impressed by the excellent communication on display between builder and client from start to finish.
Philip McElhone Construction’s addition of a single-storey extension to this property has drastically improved the living space for their clients without compromising any of the original features. The judges noted how architectural aspects like the mouldings have been matched perfectly between old and new, and clever lighting used so as not to interfere with the comfort of close neighbours. Despite the terrible weather conditions that impacted the project, Philip McElhone remained committed to delivering for their client, who stated: “Communication with the team was excellent and we would have no reservations in recommending them”.

Oakston Solutions Limited’s work on this stunning garden room was not without its challenges; situated in a vacant corner of their client’s sloped garden, access was never going to be easy. Despite an ever-changing brief, this builder delivered above and beyond their client’s expectations, who stated:

All Build Developments’ work on this property effectively transformed a derelict shack into a two-bedroom holiday home with a paying tenant in under six months. After reconstructing areas of the building too damaged to be repaired, this Master Builder went on to refurbish and restore the remainder of the property, installing a modern, functional bathroom and maximising the value of the 32 square-metre footprint. The judges were impressed by the remarkably efficient turnaround even in the face of material shortages, and by the builders’ generous, professional attitude in dealings with local authorities and the neighbours throughout the project.
