Heavenly Builder

Our relationship with Donald seemed as if he was a lifelong friend. He showed compassion and care through the battle I was facing and remained positive throughout. I personally cannot thank him enough and hope this nomination goes some way to provide the recognition he is due as a ‘Heavenly Builder’, but more importantly as a new friend.”

Heavenly builder

“Shortly after surgery and a course of radiotherapy to treat throat cancer we decided to improve our home and convert our existing conservatory into an extension. Following several interviews with prospective builders along came Donald Capewell, the local Durrington builder, who had a reputation for first class service and personal touch.”

David Campey was naturally nervous about the excessive noise and upheaval that major building work can cause, especially during what was proving to be a difficult recovery period. But he had nothing to worry about after hiring this year’s National Heavenly Builder, Donald Capewell.

Donald went above-and-beyond to ensure that David was comfortable and as undisturbed as possible during building works, whilst also ensuring the build went smoothly and to plan, finishing on time and within budget. He planned a strict schedule to make sure the minimum amount of noise was made and conscientiously arranged for heavy work to be carried out whilst his client was at hospital or taking respite elsewhere.

Clients and builders

More than this, Donald was willing to stop all work at the drop of a hat if needed and was more than happy to pop the kettle on, make a cup of tea and have a chat with David, providing him with much needed company, laughter and morale.

The Heavenly Builder category is one in which the winner really epitomises what the awards are all about as it looks for evidence of professionalism, courtesy and exceptional customer service. All qualities that Donald has in abundance, making him a very worthy winner.
