Scoots Barn is a beautiful, one-bedroom self-contained garden annexe in Ripe that is used as luxurious self-catering accommodation.
The brief: The owners wanted to create a modern and luxurious single-storey, self-contained garden annexe that would complement the characteristics of the 17th century main building, Pepperham Cottage.
The results: Using our knowledge of traditional building materials and techniques, we constructed an oak-framed annexe for its incredible strength and rustic charm that would complement the main cottage.
Bespoke fittings including a slide and hide oven and extractor were installed to maximise the appearance and use of the kitchen space, whilst bi-folding doors enabled the living space to open out and extend onto the terrace. Under floor heating was added to provide an extra touch of warmth and luxury for the colder months.
