We approached Charles Dean Developments to design and implement planning for a rear extension to our home. Drawings were professionally produced and when submitted, we were delighted to receive planning permission. The work conducted was for two storey 6m x 10m side extension. Rob completed the drawings and assisted with obtaining the planning permission. I was able to maintain a good working relationship with Rob throughout and where difficulties arose we were able to resolve them. Rob employed other trades to complete some of the work. The completed by these trades was to a high standard and I was happy to have them work within my home. The build was completed on budget. It is important that if you are having building work done that you realise that not everything will go to plan, and that things you plan as a customer are not always practical. After supplying me with a very detailed quotation (we had 6 in total with a wide range of prices ) we had several meeting to discuss the proposed 2 bed extension to my home. I decided that although not the cheapest his was probably the most realistic quote & I agreed that he would undertake the build. I have been on site every day and everything has gone pretty much to plan and we have talked through any issues as needed. His workmen have all been extremely helpful, tidy and thorough. I have no hesitation in recommending Charles Dean Developments Ltd. I have now known the company for several years. They did a very professional job when building our two-storey side extension over our integral double garage. The workmanship was very good and we were very satisfied with their performance both in speed of completion and the finish. They did an excellent job, & have always attended when asked, they were punctual and offered competitive pricing. Rob’s Architectural knowledge and his past experience working within the Local Government Architects Department, proved very useful when dealing with Building Control. The team daily left the site clean & safe while we lived in the house for a good eight months or more as work progressed around us. I am pleased to say all went as smoothly as could possibly be expected & the work completed to schedule & to budget, despite some complications with the existing building along the way, but these were expected given the nature of the extension. The good thing is our extension is almost impossible to detect against the original house as the new blends in perfectly, offering exactly what we sought when searching for a builder. We remain in contact with CDD which is useful when we have needed help or maintenance long after completion. CDD have forged a strong and lasting relationship with us and we would not hesitate to use them again. - R
