CHC renovated our house from top to bottom. The job included underfloor heating throughout; a new staircase; data cabling; re-plastering; and colourful decorating. The job has been completed in a timely manner, and at an exceptional level of quality. A good contractor lets you know when there is an unexpected problem on the job. An excellent contractor immediately informs you, and lays out the costed options, with their positive and negative aspects. This is exactly what Henderson did when we discovered that the plaster in our property was flaking and not fit for purpose. They constructed a large outside dwelling in the back garden. They demonstrated exceptional quality of work and the quality of materials sourced have been impressive but still cost-effective recommendations, this room can now be a multiple purpose room. Good standard professional project management, which incorporated our needs and wants at all time. We really benefited from their years of experience in the construction experience - which helped us with the design. We are really pleased with the very solid foundations and durability. Customer service and value placed on the 'customer experience' was great. They responded immediately to phone calls and emails which made the whole journey during the build a less stressful process for us. We needed a loft conversion and full house refurbishment to a Victorian terraced house extension, rewiring, new plumbing etc, involving a lot of work. Charles’ quote was the lowest of the three we got but his service, and the results, have been to an excellent standard. He has been patient, considerate (we were living in the house during the build!) and very sensible in planning ahead and anticipating what needed to be done. He made very intelligent suggestions about how to maximise our space and get the best from the loft conversion. He has also stuck to his quote to the penny, which is hugely reassuring, there has been no “cost creep” on the project beyond extras that we decided on, and asked for, along the way, and Charles has been dead straight in all his dealings with us. His company handled the plans, planning application, party wall agreements with our neighbours etc as well, so everything involved in the project was taken care of for us. Having builders in your home for six months is never going to be an easy experience but CHC made it as painless as possible: I would recommend them, and Charles, unreservedly. - G.B
