We developed the client’s brief to create a cosy one-bedroom guest house whilst maintaining elements of the property’s original charm. Our team stripped the tired interior to its original stonework. Walls and partitions were re-framed, new insulation and plasterboard added, while modern doors, fireplace and a fresh coat of paint helped bring the farmhouse into the 21st century. Walls separating two small bedrooms were knocked down to create one large, spacious bedroom. The original staircase was removed from its awkward position at the centre of the living room. It was rebuilt and fitted in a corner, creating extra space and a more practical flow to the house.
