Bungalow extension in Colchester

These clients moved into this bungalow from a larger house, as they didn't want to clean and maintain rooms that they didn't use. However they still wanted the feeling of spaciousness that they had grown accustomed to. Our task was to make the small space (that hadn't been changed for 30 years), feel big through design.
Firstly, we converted the garage into a living space and added an extension to allow for a guest room. We refurbished and updated the house using the customer's choice of fittings and furnishings, with new kitchen and bathroom installations. The result is a stylish, minimalist home with room to relax.

Stone House Extension

This extension created a new kitchen, utility room and cloakroom.
This beautiful cottage had buckets of charm, but didn't have the space and modern facilities that the owner needed. We created a light and airy living space based around the new kitchen. The entire roof was removed and vaulted over a modified footprint to give more room. The kitchen was then efficiently designed to incorporate modern facilities whilst keeping in character with the rest of the building. The result is a practical and beautiful property combining the old and the new.

Refurbishment of family bathroom, Chelmsford

With two young boys, these clients wanted a revamped bathroom to suit their needs. A separate shower and bath was very important to them, but the room was previously not the right shape to achieve this.
We solved the issue by placing the shower in front of the bath, separating the two from the rest of the room with a glass screen. The shower we installed is a modern, digital unit, with a remote control to allow the settings to be changed from inside or outside the shower area.
The bath has an overflow infill and a hand shower fitted. The hand shower reaches both the bath and the shower for space saving and flexibility.
To allow for everyone to get ready for work and school at the same time, we installed a double sink with two taps to save time in the morning.
For drying and comfort, the bathroom was fitted with underfloor heating.
