Blockwork walls with a … Read more We built this large 60m2 rear extension onto a lovely period house using classic building methods with a modern approach to design and products.Blockwork walls with a rendered finish kept the exterior in keeping with the house. Big roof steels and large timber roof joists covered with Fibreglass made up the warm roof system.
Three Large flat roof sky lights and large sliding glass doors made the space feel even bigger and brighter.
A wet system underfloor heating will also keep it warm in the colder months. Read less

a spacious landing and en suite were nicely fitted within the newly hipped front elevation, with two velux windows making these spaces feel bright
we also created ample loft storage within the new eaves and more storage on the new loft landing and under the double wintered staircase leading back down to the first floor. Read less

The ground floor consisted of a large bedroom with en-suite bathroom and kitchenette, the new first floor office room has a high vaulted ceiling with a pitched roof dormer on the front and two velux windows on the rear.We then moved on to a complete re-configuration of the existing first floor to allow for a new steel frame projection which accommodates the new steel staircase and lift. The new first floor reconfiguration also allows for a very large open plan kitchen living area with vaulted ceilings leading on to a large balcony.
The existing ground floor was fully refurbished to create a large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk in wardrobes, the ground floor also has additional bedrooms, kitchenette,bathroom and snug room leading to an existing conservatory.
The house has had newly tiled roof projections, is cladded with Cedral board and had large light aluminium windows windows and doors installed and has been completely finished throughout with new flooring, skirtings, architraves, kitchens and bathroom suites.

Bringing in as much light and scenery using two sets of bi-folding doors and large roof lanterns.The building is made using a timber frame method with an insulated warm roof and cladded with the popular, low maintanence Cedral Board.
Inside, the existing kitchen window and rear entrance door were opened up using a steel beam to create the open planned feel from the kitchen to the new extension. With electric underfloor heating even in winter it feels bright and warm. Read less

We used D&P Construction to do our recent loft conversion into a large main bedroom, en-suite bathroom and minor changes to the layout on the first floor. We have a child with complex special needs and it was vitally important to us that we found a builder that would understand our needs as a family. From the very beginning Dan and Pete completely understood the importance of good communication with us, always telling us well in advance what would happen when so that our son was involved in rather than distressed by the process. They took extreme care to work around his needs - more so than we would have expected from any building company. Dan and Pete’s team were all fully committed to working on our project and worked long hours every day and always tidied up any mess before leaving for the day. They were also all friendly and professional at all times. Crucially, the conversion work has been done to an extremely high standard, every penny spent has been clearly accounted for, and we are delighted with our new space. We would gladly recommend D&P Construction to others and will not hesitate to use the company again if we have other building work in the future.

" I recently had a two floor extension to my house, which involved enlarging the kitchen on the ground floor and enlarging the bathroom and adding another bedroom on the first floor. I wanted the extension to be in keeping with the rest of the cottage. Pete, one of the partners, listened carefully to what I wanted done right from the start and, as the project progressed. Consequently, I was very pleased with the end result. Both Pete and his team were very reliable, trustworthy and friendly and although the building work affected virtually the whole house, including kitchen and bathroom, they ensured that the areas were kept tidy and the work had as little impact as possible on our daily lives. The extension was completed within the time schedule and the original budget. I would recommend D & P Construction SE Ltd and would not hesitate in using them again".

We had Dan and the rest of D&P Construction SE Ltd knock our house into shape, with a great new attic bedroom (and roof), new stairs on 2 of the 3 floors, and a clean knock-through of the whole basement floor to make a large kitchen and living area. We had a reasonable quote, which they stuck to, and any extras were clearly explained to us before we agreed to go ahead - so no nasty surprises! The work was done quickly AND effectively, and any suggestions we made as things progressed were considered and respected. Dan and his team were always polite and personable, and the plumbers, electricians and plasterers he used were equally capable and always polite. We now have the house the way we always wanted, and thanks to one or two extra suggestions (eg; replacing the supporting spine-wall) even better than we had imagined. Having lived on site while the project was completed, I could see that the D&P team take pride in what they do. They clearly understand that the work, when done properly, will always reflect positively on the company. We are more than happy with the finished result, and have already recommended the team to two of our neighbours as a result.
