Fleming Buildings are a Principal Contractor construction business with core experience in education, healthcare, community buildings, religious buildings and historical conservation. 

This experience includes new build, extensions, refurbishment and reconfiguration, frequently delivered within live, operational environments. 

Additionally, we have in-house timber engineering, specialising in design, manufacture and erection of timber frame structures, glulam solutions, floor and roof cassettes. 

Primarily we work with Local Authorities, Public Bodies, charities and community development groups on projects ranging in value from £200,000 - £6 million throughout Scotland. 

We are a construction company having our own directly employed trades supported by our design, manufacture, admin, support staff, site operatives and yearly intake of trade apprentices.

Flemings are Constructionline approved and are members of TRADA, FMB and STA. 

We also operate quality and environmental management systems to ISO9001 and ISO140001 standard. We have an exemplar approach to health and safety, maintaining both CHAS and SMAS/SSIP accreditation.

Case studies

Education - East Park School

East Park is a school that provides education to children and young people with additional support needs.
We constructed two new purpose-built, independent residential units, together with a classroom block. Additionally, we reconfigured the car park and carried out landscaping work.
The project was carried out on time and within budget. We are pleased to say that our careful coordination minimised disruption to the ongoing operation of the school.

Health - Edinburgh Royal Infirmary

Our Timber Engineering Division undertook this prestigious project for Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, which involved the creation of one of the largest timber-framed commercial buildings in Scotland.
Fleming Buildings were closely involved with the Managing Contractor from an early stage and were responsible for the design, manufacture and erection of the structure and roof cassettes in a phased programme of works.
