The main contractor tasked with the refurbishment of this hotel wing approached us with the challenge of removing six large chimney breasts safely and with minimal disruption. As the building is listed it was not possible to alter the external appearance of these decorative chimney stacks. We were able to maximise internal space whilst retaining the external character of the building via the use of cranked steels installed in the attic space.

Extension
Our clients wanted to create a large open plan kitchen area to the rear of their three storey Victorian town house. The solution we offered involved removing the entire ground floor of the rear wall which led into a new single storey extension.
We were impressed with HDL's attention to detail right from the start. They kept us informed about progress and future options or problems to be attended to, and they always gave us the options if there was to be more than one way of achieving things even if that meant more work for them. We have ended up with a true, quality, representation of the architects original plan, which we are extramely happy with (and so are the architects). We would have no hesitation in recommending HDL to anyone wanting a reliable and conscientious constructor and, if requiring another build project would more than likely approach them to do the job without getting any other quotes.

Excellent customer service from start to finish. These chaps are meticulous about their work. Excellent tradesmen from start to finish. They listen to the customer and are on hand to offer advice when needed or give opinions. Totally trustworthy.
We had our work carried out near the beginning of the pandemic in July 2020 so we were both working from home and lived through it all. We didn't feel any stress. They tried their best to minimise disruption and it was great not to worry about when to get certain tradesmen in to do their bit. HDL project managed the job from start to completion and all works finished within the time scale quoted.
We would definitely use them again and we continue to use them on other work we are finishing on the house. We will never use anyone else.
