Ladycraft Building and Joining Services, based in Durham, were established in 1991 by Vanessa Tyers. For over 25 years we have been serving the County Durham area, including Durham, Consett, Spennymoor, Crook, Willington and Brandon. Ladycraft offer a full range of home improvement services including extensions, alterations, loft conversions, kitchen and bathroom fitting, and garage conversions.
Before starting the company, Vanessa was a fully trained carpenter and joiner who was frustrated at being a woman in a 'man's world', so decided that if no-one would employ her then she'd start her own business instead. This was the beginning of Ladycraft, specialising in bespoke furniture. Over the years the business has grown, branching out into many aspects of building work and employing more and more people, a lot of whom are trusted family members, including Vanessa's husband Gary.

The foundation of the business is quality and customer service. Ladycraft is a family business based on ethical values who understand that to stay successful you need to remain competitive, do a great job and ensure you are recommended by your clients. This is what sets us apart from the rest.

Ladycraft now covers all aspects of building and building maintenance including: Extensions, Loft conversions, Garage conversions, Kitchens, General alterations, Flooring, Plastering and all aspects of roofing including GRP.
