Phase three at Mitchell Gardens consisted of a block of five 3 Bedroomed houses along with eight 1 & 2 bedroomed apartments. This phase was finished in late 2016 and took about eight months to complete.
The construction method during this phase was timber framed allowing the units to be very individual in design and very practical to live in.
These photo's show the foundation stage. At the outset we found that poor ground conditions meant a structural engineer would be required to design a piled foundation together with a ringbeam reinforced steel footing. This was designed by an engineer we use in these situations and the job was handed over to a specialist foundation company who had the nessacary piling rig. Once the foundation was installed we then took the site back over and completed the units. owing to our experience and expertise in these situations we were able to overcome this potentially disastrous situation with little effect on time frame or build budget. The idea is to remove the roof to raise the building and install the following: New roof, New floor, damp proof entire building, new electrical installation, underfloor heating, new insulation and drylining, new windows and landscape to include new roadway, parking areas inc disabled access. All of the above is being carried out to provide vital employment/office space in the local area. Once complete it will be offered to local businesses as employment space thereby creating vital rural job opportunities.
The completed unit will mean a derelict building is brought back into use once again whilst affording comfortable sustainable work environments.

These units were completed in late 2015 and consisted of nine terraced high quality two and three bedroomed homes with views over the town center and minster church.
They were constructed using brick and blockwork and acheived high thermal efficiency due to the quality materials used and their innovative design.
This phase also involved a major retaining wall scheme together with associated landscaping and groundworks.
We were again commissioned as the priciple contractors for this phase which was completed on time and on budget.
The clients were delighted with the results and promptly awarded our firm the contract to develop the next phase also.
