Storrs - New Dwelling

We were commissioned to demolish outbuildings and construct and new 3 bedroomed dwelling using the reclaimed stone. This property is situated in the Peak Park district and planning requirements were to retain an existing wall. If the wall collapsed then the planning permission would not have been granted to rebild it rendering the site useless. Additionally, the client was a partner in a leading firm of solicitors - No pressure ther then! We underpinned the retained sections of the building and added stuctural steelwork in to the new structure.
The project supervising architect Robin Ashley Architects designed an intriguing dwelling including a central courtyard which added light in to the middle of the building. We also installed ground mounted solar panels in the garden.

Whirlow - Extensions, remodelling & refurbishment

Mack construction was employed by the client in late 2010 to demolish a section of the existing dwelling, to construct a 2 storey & single storey extension, carry out substantial structural alterations and refurbish the existing dwelling. The works included reroofing, total electrical rewiring, a new weather compensated heating & hot water system, new bathrooms, oak folding sliding doors, kitchen works & decoration. The work was carried out under a JCT standard form of contract and was administered by the client's supervising Architect. We completed the project on time and on budget.

Redmires - New House

Demolition of the existing dormer bugalow left a substantial sized plot for the construction of this modern 5 bedroomed property. The property has underfloor heating throughout the ground and 1st floor. Fire resistant windows were required on the side elevation due to the close proximity of the boundary. A high efficiency boiler that runs at a low temperature then steps up to heat the hot water cylinder when demanded helps to provide very economical running costs. A fully priced schedule & programme of works was produced by Mack Construction which enabled the client to be confident the job was going according to plan and keep track of the budget.
