The goal of this project was to set out and construct a two-storey extension from foundations to plate, using a solid wall construction. However, it was not going to be quite that easy. The discovery of an old Victorian sewer right in the foundation line meant we had to get approval from the local authority before we could proceed. Once we obtained approval, the foundations were poured using shuttering. This meant we were able to stop any concrete spilling over into the old sewer.
