McMurray and Martin Ltd was entrusted to carry out the build of two extensions to this 1920s property to allow for modern day living. The front of the extension consists of nearly all glass allowing for natural light to flood the kitchen dining room creating a breath-taking entrance from the misguiding hallway. The cement based cladding is soft suttle tone of green allowing the building to not be to imposing and to pick up the colours of the established willow tree it sits next to.

loft conversion

McMurray and Martin Ltd was entrusted to carry out the conversion of an unused loft space into a master bedroom complete with ensuite with full glass gable end wall overlooking Weymouth bay.

kitchen referbishment

This project was to remove the old dated kitchen and install a new modern kitchen. The ceiling was over boarded, plastered and a new lighting ring was installed to allow chrome down lights to illuminate the new kitchen. The kitchen was installed with additional features such as solid oak worktops and breakfast bar. White socket fronts were changed for chrome socket fronts. The walls were tiled along with the floor and painted to complete the kitchen.

full cottage referbishment

A full refurbishment project carried out by McMurray and Martin Ltd. The specification was high as well as the finishing as this property would be let out as a holiday home. This project consisted of removing a load bearing supporting wall between the kitchen and the dining room to create an open plan kitchen dining area. Steel was inserted into the ceiling void and purbeck stone pliers were built up either side to give a distinction of the two rooms but still letting the light and space flow freely. The walls in this property were in bad condition and took a lot of time and effort to get them to the finish that was required, never less we achieved this and decorated throughout with finishing touches such as oak flooring to the entire ground floor and oak hand rail up the stairs carried into the balustrade. New ledge and brace doors were installed and finished with hand crafted Suffolk latches as well as the window furniture to match the black iron. New bathroom suit was installed and floor and walls tiled. The master bedroom ensuite door was moved to give a better layout to the ensuite and tiled floor and walls. The finished result has given the client a home which many holiday makers will be able to enjoy.
