We worked with RJ Bacon Builders to transform an outdated 1960s bungalow into a modern home which would allow our parents to grow old comfortably and securely. RJ Bacon Builders exceeded our expectations. Their work was of exceptional quality, they were rigorous and transparent with budgeting, and they were timely--all during a global pandemic. What was truly impressive was the personal touch they provided--my husband and I managed this renovation from the US. Sue Bacon and I developed a very close relationship as we made decisions on fixtures, details, and plans via video, phone call and emails. I relied on Rob and Sue completely to translate our vision into reality since travel to the UK was not possible due to COVID. Their attention to our wishes as well as her consideration for the needs of my aging parents, the ultimate occupants, were outstanding. The even helped with our parents move and settle in since we couldn't be there! RJ Bacon Builders were outstanding! - Sandra Morris and Richard Tillyer

When asked ' How would you rate your experience with the on-site team and office staff?' 'From the site meeting(s), implementation of the work, and office back up, the process was truly excellent. Everyone we have dealt with at the company is truly professional and have gone above and beyond our expectations.' When asked 'How would you rate the quality of our work?' 'High quality work, carried out by really nice guys that are a pleasure to have in your house.' 'We live in a small house, which was originally intended to be a holiday home. Sue and Rob treated us exactly like any of their other customers, despite it only being a small project for them. They are full of brilliant ideas and advice- especially with regards to some of the issues that we have come across living in a salty environment close to the sea. We really can’t fault them in any way, and have every confidence in recommending them to others.' - Reg

When asked about the RJB Team; 'Everyone is not only amazing at their individual trades but are also really amazing people who actually care about what they are doing' When asked about our work: 'Once I learned to just let Sue do exactly what she advised I found it amazing - the partnership between sue and rob is fantastic every problem they have a solution to and every idea makes sense and their taste level and attention to detail is fantastic' When asked Would you recommend R J Bacon Builders to others: 'Absolutely like they say they may not be the cheapest quote you get but you get what you pay for .... and the cheaper quotes always work out more expensive anyway - this is a company that I strongly advise you set a budget and then just give them the keys !!' Quality in detail nothing is a problem , always at the end of the phone , and no job is a problem loved working with them and feel I have made great friends and I love my cottage - Sally

When Rachel and I decided to go ahead with the rebuild of the village garage in Blakeney we knew we were taking on a tricky project, not only was the garage an iconic local building, being almost 100 years old and designed as a motor garage from day one, the work that was required was substantial add to this working in a very confined site and we needed to keep the fuel sales going for as long as possible during works, all carried out in full show of the local community. Rob Bacon and I met to look around the garage and review the project in the Spring of 2018 despite its size and complexities Rob was enthusiastic from the start, we both were aware this was going to be a difficult project to execute. I had my plans to keep the style of a vintage garage yet make the building fit for another 100 years, not only did we need to continue the support for the local community with the servicing, fuel supplies and maintaining their cars, but we also wanted to make the business a landmark for visitors to experience the Blakeney village history with vintage Bentley cars. The project started with SMG Architect’s working on the planning authority requirements and project design, Plandescil limited working on the structural design drawings and calculations, we managed to get the project underway in October 2018 and as more and more of the buildings original structure was uncovered we quickly confirmed the project was a total rebuild, the front wall adjoining the main A149 coast road had literally no footings, many of the buildings wooden lintels had rotted internally and lost their structural integrity. The project took the form of three clear phase’s allowing the site to be divided between building work and garage operations, primarily the workshop area was the largest phase as it is 15.8 meters high and required a complete structural steel frame putting in place to allow a second floor to be put in place along with - Mark
