Richard Barker Project Management Services are a building company with over 25 years in the construction industry in both the residential and commercial sectors. Our extensive experience has given us a wealth of skills and knowledge that we bring to every construction and refurbishment project that we do. We also have previous experience as consultants, contractors and client side management, meaning that we understand all aspects of the building process and can provide a truly tailored service to our clients.
Our director Richard Barker has a degree in Construction Management from Manchester University and over 15 years experience as a Project Manager. He spent time working for Taylor Woodrow and was involved in both building and civil engineering disciplines, including a section of the Jubilee line extension at London Bridge. He has also worked for Vector Management. In 2003 Richard started his own project management company based in SW London. Since then he has worked on a number of residential refurbishment projects including the £10M project to refurbish the 16th century grade 2 listed Stanley House in Chelsea.
Private Clients & Developers: Richard Barker specialise in creating project execution plans that follow the priorities and requirements of the client, whilst also being cost and time effective without sacrificing quality. Our aim is to be a ‘value added’ member of the ‘Team’, meaning that we will use our expertise and assistance but will always consult with the client. We can perform all or some of the roles involved in a project, as required.
Designers and Architects: Having worked for both clients and contractors, we understand the difficult role of architect and designer, especially when the role of contract administrator is added. We have seen that in some cases, the role of contract administrator can make things more difficult for the design team. We are happy to work independently or within your own organization providing this resource and freeing up your time to concentrate on your core strengths.
Contractors: We have worked on both sides of the contractual fence and understand the demands that can be put on contractors, and the problems that can arise when there is conflict within a team. We aim to remove this risk and its impact on a project by providing a service which emphasises clear and concise communication every step of the way, regardless of the contractual arrangements. Our policy is free and honest discussion with documentation as the background.
