The team at Simmons Construction constructed this new building at a local school to be used as a science and art classroom, leading it to be named 'The Da Vinci Building'. We had built a relationship with the school and gained the trust of the school body, meaning that we were given a considerable amount of creative licence in the design of the building. We decided to finish it with Shiplap Thermowood vertical cladding, giving the building a timeless, natural aesthetic, which fit the brief of 'outdoor learning'.
For our work on this project, Simmons Construction were awarded best Commercial Project at the FMB North West Master Builder Awards 2017. Read more about the North West and Yorkshire & Trent awards here.
