During National Apprenticeship Week the FMB will be discussing all things skills and training. With labour shortages in the construction industry reaching their highest levels in 20 years, what can you do to attract and retain the skilled workers you need for your business? This webinar will give you the latest updates and the tools to help.

Topics we will cover include:

Brian Berry will highlight the FMB resources available to members including our HR helpline, skills and training pages on website and e-learning.
Derek Whitehead will share the perspective of training providers delivering construction education & training courses and will offer guidance on existing offerings and future skills trends, including an overview of the benefits training an apprentice can bring your business. Simple steps to take the pain out of finding the new young talent that you can mould into being the future for your business. Derek will also provide advice on how to work with your local college to source the labour you need to complete your projects.
Wendy Osborn will discuss how to get the most out of the CITB, including accessing grants and training. She will also explain how the CITB works for the interests of small, local builders, providing them labour, training and resources to grow their business.
FMB member Annie Summun will discuss her own experience of retaining and recruiting talent. She will also provide an update on what the FMB is doing to tackle the labour shortages in the construction industry and give six practical tips to recruit and retain the skills you need for your business and discuss the current skills shortage.
