New Build Home in Hertfordshire
When our clients, Orley and Jonathan Kutner, found a house in Bushey, Hertfordshire, to buy for themselves and their three children, they fell in love with the location and the setting, but they knew they would need to make changes to create the perfect family home. The house, a 1960s chalet, was very old fashioned, with small dark rooms, so they opted for demolishing and rebuilding. The new home we have built is much larger and brighter, with floor to ceiling glazing and easy access to the garden. The residency was tailor-made, as all of our other work using the best quality materials available on the market. The walls were painted in light colours in order to reflect all that healthy natural light coming from the floor to ceiling glazing. The flooring too has been kept bright and airy with similarly light-coloured stone tiles, for the very same purpose of reflecting the light.
House Extension in North London
Our client, Michael Dunk, loves his North London home but wanted to add an extra room that would bring some light into the house and express his personality. We achieved this by adding a large rear house extension. The brick walls helped the expansion fit with the surroundings while keeping its charming character. The combination of the industrial style steel framed glass panel doors and a large roof-light allows a wealth of warmth and natural light in and give the feeling of vast space. For a real contemporary look, we have built an interior flemish bond brick feature wall on one side of the extension, which contrasts beautifully with the cream coloured sofa sitting in front of it. Standing proudly next to the sofa is the owners beloved original 1958 AMI I 200 Vinyl Jukebox. The red dining chairs and the fun bright orange 40s style butterfly sling chairs add yet more colour to the interior. Finally, to adhere to the period style theme, large light up canvas poster featuring a collage of famous artwork from the 60s has been hung above the wooden shabby chic sideboard.
