Construction Coach was founded by Maria Coulter, a former Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager who became disillusioned with the construction industry’s “race to the bottom” on price and wanted to help builders become better at doing business - not just winning work.

Maria naturally found her niche working with small building firms and has delivered three group coaching programmes in partnership with the Federation of Master Builders. Her work is grounded in real site experience, strong commercial understanding, and a deep appreciation of the day-to-day pressures faced by SME builders.

She works with FMB members who feel stretched, overloaded, or stuck being the bottleneck in their own business. Through practical coaching and simple, well-chosen technology, Maria helps builders get clear on what they want and why, identify where time and profit are leaking, and put the right systems and processes in place to deliver consistently.

A core part of Construction Coach’s approach is community. Maria is building supportive communities of small builders who share experience, learn from each other, and realise they are not alone in the challenges they face. Together, they are making the changes needed to move away from the “race to the bottom” and build stronger, more profitable, and happier businesses - on their terms.
